Is it better to side with glut or spaw? ›

There are valid reasons to side with either Sovereign Glut or Sovereign Spaw in Baldur's Gate 3, but refusing to join Glut's cause is generally the best path to take. From a practical standpoint, it's easier to refuse and fight Glut instead of Spaw.

Helping Glut

Once Spaw dies, Glut will take over the rest of the colony, ending the fight and the quest. You'll receive a pair of gloves called Winter's Clutches, but Glut implies you are not welcome in the colony any longer, though this seems to be an empty threat.

Siding With Glut In Baldur's Gate 3

The one reason to make this choice is for the sheer evil of it. After attacking Shaw, the entire colony will turn hostile (aside from Glut, of course). This decision effectively leads to the end of the Myconid civilization in this region.

You should bring Glut with you to kill the duergar, whether you decide to help him on his quest or not. He will be a useful ally in battle because of his ability to raise the dead. While fighting the duergar, you can use Glut to resurrect corpses at the beach.

Spaw initially thanks the party for defeating the duergar, but Glut interjects about how no one listened to Glut's song when it sang for help. Spaw asks the party to explain what is going on, and the player has an opportunity to betray Glut and side with Spaw after all, triggering a fight.

Their biggest job is in keeping us upright and pushing our bodies forward. "Strong gluteals are important for proper pelvic alignment, propulsion during walking and running, and even standing on one leg. Gluteals also help support the lower back during lifting, and help prevent knee injuries."

He will note that one of his colleagues from the Society of Brilliance, Omeluum, could possibly help with your issue. Blurg will summon Omeluum.

It is highly recommended to trust Omeluum. There are no negative consequences of letting Omeluum try his cure. Players will gain the Ring of Mind-Shielding by allowing Omeluum to try his cure.
