Delays in Newry this weekend
A statement from the PSNI this morning said: "Road users are being advised to expect traffic delays in Newry this Friday evening, 30th August, due to a number of planned parades in the city.
"Both parades are expected to be underway by 7.15pm, and it is anticipated that they will have concluded by 10.30pm.
"Officers will be on the ground to accommodate the flow of traffic in the city, but to avoid potential delays, please seek an alternative route for your journey where possible."
A statement from the PSNI this afternoon said: "There will be some traffic disruption in Newry this Saturday afternoon, 31st August as Newry Pride parade takes place.
"Assembly for the parade is at the Albert Basin, departing at 1pm. The route is along Buttercrane Quay, Merchant’s Quay, Needham Bridge and Hill Street for approximately 2pm. Officers will be on the ground to accommodate the flow of traffic.
"Police urge the public and road users to plan any journeys in advance and, if travelling to the event, park legally and do not obstruct access to any residential or business properties."

Motorists are advised to avoid the North Road in Ballymena, which is closed due to a collision in the area. Police, together with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, are currently at the scene.

Motorists travelling eastbound have been advised to leave the motorway at Fortwilliam or Duncrue Street if possible.
There is currently no access to the M3 Bridge from M2 citybound, A12 Westlink, Nelson Street, York Link, which is causing knock-on delays down the Westlink and in the city centre around Great Patrick Street, Corporation Street, Waring Street and Albert Square.
